Neighborhood values reviewed

The Triennial Update has been completed for Champaign County, according to Auditor Karen T. Bailey. A triennial update is a review of neighborhood values based on sales over the prior three years. Values will be updated for both agricultural and residential properties throughout Champaign County.

The new values are not available on the internet, as they are considered tentative until certified by the Ohio Department of Taxation for tax rate calculation. Tax estimates as a result of the new valuations will not be available until the middle of December 2016.

Anyone interested in viewing their values may contact the auditor’s office at 937-484-160, #5. In most cases, questions can be answered during a phone call. For more information, appointments can be scheduled to speak with an appraiser during the “informal hearing” process on Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Our office has worked very hard to ensure that property values are fair and accurate for all taxpayers,” said Bailey. Updated values will be reflected in the January 2017 tax bills.
