Tickets are now available for “The Vocal Illusions of Lynn Trefzger” presented by the Champaign County Arts Council and The GrandWorks Foundation at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23.

The event will be held at The Gloria Theatre, with concessions available. Doors open at 2 p.m.

“We are so excited to be working with the GrandWorks Foundation again to present family-friendly entertainment. Our goal is to present an artist that appeals to all ages at a reasonable cost to a growing family with young children,” said Arts Council Executive Director Heather Brackney. “Lynn is an exceptional performer, and I hope that our community takes advantage of the opportunity to see her locally. We would love to continue offering programs like this one.”

A ventriloquist and comedienne, Lynn Trefzger is a multiple award winner who says her show started as a childhood hobby that got out of hand. Performing since 1977, she has developed seven characters for her original show, including a precocious 3-year-old, a goofy camel, a drama queen, a cantankerous old man, a cave man, a bear and her life-long sidekick Simon.

She has performed for audiences worldwide, including on Disney, Crystal and Norwegian cruise lines, at Celebrity Golf Classic Invitationals and the Atlantis Resort and Casino in Nassau, Bahamas.

She has appeared on television and is featured in a recently released comedic documentary about the art of ventriloquism.

Tickets are $15 each. Children 10 and under are free, but need children’s tickets.

Tickets are available at The Gloria Theatre by request, 937- 653-4853, and at the Arts Council office, 119 Miami St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Tickets are also available online using Paypal at the Arts Council website, www.champaigncountyartscouncil.org.
