YELLOW SPRINGS – The Yellow Springs Street Fair, scheduled for Oct. 8, lures hundreds of arts & crafts vendors, international cuisine and talented entertainers to this unique village with a variety of artists, shops and eateries.
Artisans with handmade jewelry, clothing, ceramics and more will line the streets line the streets.
Food is the star of every festival and Street Fair is no exception. Grab a hot dog, some bourbon chicken, a refreshing frozen treat or any of the other great offerings and relax in the food tent at the Soin Stage while enjoying a variety of acoustic music and belly dancing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This time around, the Soin Stage is starting with Free Yoga on the Lawn taught by Monica Hasek from The Wellness Center at Antioch College.
A popular stop is the Street Fair Music & Beer Fest at the Bryan Center from noon to 7 p.m. The musical line-up begins at noon with Soul River Symphony, followed by new bands on the hour including Zane & The Sway, Emma Woodruff & The Ruffians, The Mercury Curtain, Stark Folk Band, The LA Band, Spanish Tony Sanchez and ending with BAOKU at 6 p.m.
To make getting to Street Fair easier, use the free shuttle service from Young’s Dairy at 6800 Springfield-Xenia Road or Yellow Springs High School at 420 E. Enon Road. The shuttle service is available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check YellowSpringsOhio.org for alternate routes also. Or ride your bike and use the free Bike Miami Valley bike valet service at the corner of Dayton Street and U.S. Route 68, adjacent to the Beer Garden.
Street Fair is free and open to the public. Handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot on Corry Street. For the safety and comfort of all, Street Fair is a pet-free festival by ordinance, and pet owners will be asked to leave.
