Schools prepare for new year

Keep an eye out for those big yellow school buses, as school has started or is starting around the county.

Triad Local Schools was the first in the county to start school on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Urbana University kicked off its first day on Monday. Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools started Tuesday.

Both Urbana City Schools and Graham Local Schools will start Wednesday.

West Liberty-Salem Local Schools is scheduled to start Sept. 19. The school’s start date was pushed back due to the district’s building project work.

Varsity high school football season kicks off Friday night.
