Annual BOSS Run makes for fun Saturday

The 39th annual Boss Summer Run was held Saturday, Aug. 20, at Lions Ball Park. The youngest runners got off to a foggy start at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids 1 mile Fun Run. They gave it their best with Jake Lauck coming in first for the boys and Sophia Hardwick for the girls. Michael Conley and Katelyn Stapleton were the winners for the 5K, and in the 10K it was Earl Zilles and Rosey Dunham.

The BOSS Summer Run was started in 1977 by Ken Lehman, former cross country coach. It benefits the West Liberty Big Orange Cross Country Program. Sponsors for the race areWest Liberty Big Orange Shoe Shop and Reliant Mechanical of East Liberty.
