ROSEWOOD – A two-vehicle head on crash where one of the drivers died Thursday morning is under investigation.

According to a press release from Sheriff Matt Melvin, Larry Quiram, 60, of Bellefontaine, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Champaign County Coroner Josh Richards.

At 12:19 a.m., the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Calland Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury crash in which a vehicle had caught on fire.

An initial investigation revealed a 2006 Chevy Silverado operated by Christopher Jablonka, 34, of St. Paris, traveled left of center, colliding with a 1998 Ford F150 driven by Quiram.

Jablonka was flown from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Melvin stated Jablonka is suspected of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Loren Wisma, 30, was a passenger in Jablonka’s vehicle and was transported from the scene by a squad.

Anita Morris, 59, was a passenger in Quiram’s vehicle and was transported from the scene to a hospital by a squad.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash and will present it to the Champaign County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of criminal charges.

The Daily Citizen will update this story as more information becomes available.
