Urbana University in conjunction with The Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO), announced a state-wide collaboration among Ohio’s private colleges and universities. The historic collaboration is beginning with a new summer program designed to allow families to visit up to six private schools over three days, June 27, 29 and 30.

Ohio’s Independent College Visit Days include information about cost and graduation rates of private schools.

Families visiting two participating schools June 27-30 can document their visits on Instagram using #YOUCANVisitDays and be entered to win one of five $1,000 YouCan book awards.

Ohio joins other states joining forces with competing peers to highlight private universities.

“Access and affordability is on the minds of students and their families every day in the college search process,” said AICUO President Todd Jones. “We want families to understand the real cost of attending an Ohio private college. We also want them to know that as a result of the smaller classes and personal attention they’ll get, they’ll see real results, like higher four-year graduation rates.”

Ohio’s private universities provided $1.275 billion in financial aid and scholarships to students in the 2014-15 school year, a 33 percent increase in the last five years.
