On your mark, get set, READ! The 2016 Summer Reading Programs will be off to a fast start as we celebrate all the great benefits that come with reading. Whether it’s summer reading for school, a great page turner for the beach or pool, or that bedtime story that’s being read for the 10th time, all of it counts toward your summer reading goals and enters you to win great prizes at the end.

Registration is now open for summer reading programs for all ages. New this year is an option to register and track reading online using your computer, tablet, or smartphone through an awesome new program called Beanstack, available at champaign.beanstack.org. This new program will offer book recommendations, reading activities, and upcoming program reminders so you can get the best Summer Reading Program experience possible.

The Friends of the Library’s annual Donut Day will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday, June 3, to start this year’s summer fun. Saturday, June 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Main Library hosts the annual Kickoff Party with concession-themed food, crafts, and games. The North Lewisburg Branch Kickoff will be Monday, June 6, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Story time sessions will be offered at the Main Library for ages 6 months to 5 years old. Call or visit the library to register. Other programs throughout the summer include magician Jim Kleefeld, juggler Mike Himmelgarn, Teen Trivia night, Friday morning movie matinees, karate instruction, craft projects, and much more.

For more information on the Summer Reading Program, any of the exciting programs, or to register for story time sessions, please call the Main Library at 937-653-3811 or visit us online at www.champaigncountylibrary.org.
