Graham board approves staff actions

ST. PARIS – Graham Local Schools board approved staff hires and resignations at its Monday meeting.

The board accepted the resignations of Maintenance Technician Carrie Draper, effective April 29, and Librarian Diana Schlater, effective May 31. Schlater’s resignation is for retirement.

The board also approved hiring Tracy Merica as athletic event manager for the fall season at the middle school level for the 2016-17 school year, and re-employed aide Lisa Purk effective April 4. Purk is returning from a military leave of absence.

In other action, the board:

•Approved establishing a fund for Miscellaneous Scholarships and setting its appropriation and estimated revenue at $500.

•Accepted a donation of $2,227 from the Graham Booster Club for the Graham Athletic Department.

•Approved the Graham Ag Ed/FFA Ohio FFA Convention overnight trip to the Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, May 5-6, 2016.

•Approved the Graham Ag Ed/FFA Ohio FFA Camp overnight trip to Camp Muskingum, Carrollton, June 6-10, 2016.

•Approved the OHP/Graham FCCLA FCCLA Competition overnight trip to the Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, April 28-29, 2016.

•Accepted the list of students, upon successful completion of their high school work, to be approved for graduation from Graham High School on June 3, as graduates of the Class of 2016.

•Approved one-year limited contracts for Tutors for Individualized Services (Home Instruction/Intervention Tutors/Saturday School), for the 2015-16 school year.

•Approved the medical leave of absence through June 1, 2016, for Jesse Williams. The leave will become unpaid leave once all leave has been exhausted.
