Van and Mary Evans of Urbana celebrated their 50th anniversary April 8. They were married on that date in 1967 by the Rev. Wesley Matthews.
They are the parents of three children, Christie Evans Walton, Stephani (Hakim) Islam and Vanessa (Jason) Randolph. They have five grandchildren.
Mr. Evans is retired from Urbana City Schools. Mrs. Evans is retired from Community Mercy Health Partners.
