Fire destroys barn
Fire crews from Johnson St. Paris Fire District (JSP) and surrounding fire departments work to extinguish a large barn fire on the Loudenback property, 4055 Nettle Creek Road in Mad River Township, on Thursday. Smoke could be seen for miles and tanker trucks filled at Mad River on U.S. Route 36 and in Urbana to battle the fire, which destroyed the barn. There were no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation. Total water usage was estimated at 44,000 gallons, according to JSP.
